Kylian Mbappe recently made headlines by completing his highly-anticiapted move to Real Madrid. The France captain was presented at the Santiago Bernabeu to a huge crowd, after he joined the club upon the expiry of his contract with PSG.

A lot has been speculated regarding Mbappe’s salary at Real Madrid, given how much he earned at PSG. However, he is only the third-highest earner in LaLiga.

According to Capology, the highest-paid player in LaLiga is Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong. The Dutchman earns a salary of €37.5 million per year. The second-best paid player in the league is also from Barcelona, the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

The former Bayern Munich talisman earns €33.3 million per season, while Mbappe has signed a contract worth €31.25 million per season. The top five is completed by Real Madrid’s David Alaba, who earns €22.5 million per season.

On the other hand, fifth place is a tie between Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, with the trio earning €20.8 million per season.

Ilkay Gundogan, Thibaut Courtois and Fede Valverde complete the top ten, with salaries ranging between €18-15 million. From the list, it’s easy to see the financial dominance Madrid and Barcelona maintain over the rest of the league, given Oblak is the only player not from the El Clasico clubs to earn a huge amount.

Which number will Mbappe wear at Real Madrid?

Number 9
