Kylian Mbappe has not agreed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain yet, despite several reports suggesting that the Frenchman had finally been persuaded to stay.
An official statement from his mother confirms that the striker is yet to finalise where he will play his football next season. He is out of contract with PSG at the end of the ongoing campaign, and could leave as a free agent if he wanted. Real Madrid have been strongly linked with his signature, and could finally have their top target with no money being paid as transfer fee.
Kylian Mbappe yet to decide on future
“There’s NO agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain or any other club. Discussions around Kylian’s future continue in great serenity to allow him to make the best choice, in the respect of all the parties” said Kylian Mbappe’s mother, Fayza.
Real Madrid made offers worth up to €200 million to try and sign the player last summer. But all of their advances were rejected by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the PSG chairman. He was confident of getting the France international to sign a new deal. But, he hasn’t been able to achieve that as of yet.
Despite Mauricio Pochettino suggesting that Mbappe would remain with PSG next season, there is a very strong chance he could join the club of his dreams, Real Madrid. We will finally get to know where he stands about his future at the end of the season, in a month’s time.
