Another beloved K-drama star is trading his script for a uniform. Actor Kwak Dong Yeon officially enlisted in the South Korean military today, marking the start of his mandatory service — and fans are already counting down the days until his return.

## What Happened

Kwak Dong Yeon began active duty on August 25, 2026, following his earlier announcement of the enlistment date. Before heading in, he shared a heartfelt moment with fans on Instagram, posting photos of his fresh military buzz cut while spending time with friends and taking a ride on a motorcycle. Alongside the pictures, he wrote a simple, warm message promising he’d be back and wishing everyone health and happiness.

Like all able-bodied South Korean men, Kwak Dong Yeon is fulfilling a legal obligation rooted in the country’s mandatory conscription policy, a system that has shaped the careers of countless Korean celebrities over the decades.
