Krafton Unveils Esports Roadmap for 2025, BGMIS Registration Opens January 3
Registration for the BGMIS 2025 will open on January 3, 2025. Players will have the chance to compete for a massive prize pool of ₹2 crore, making it one of the most anticipated esports events in India. On top of the online tournament, Krafton will also conduct the BGIS 2024 LAN event in Kolkata, which will enable its in-person events for participants and ramp up the already heated competition. Players can register for the event on the KRAFTON India Esports website. Just as a reminder, the previous tournament was won by XSpark and the series should include many legendary teams.
But it does not end there. Krafton is also launching the Rising Star program to scout and recruit emergent esports talent. Also returning in 2025 is the Esports College Campus Tour. Other prestigious institutes like IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology have also participated in this initiative organized to reach out to students from across the colleges in India.
On a different note, Free Fire India, a game that was once popular in the Indian ecosystem, has been out of play since its ban. Out of the blue, Indian users were hit hard, as a developer called Garena was already on their toes to bring a version specific to the country. Fans are looking forward to its official return, with the relaunch initially having been set for November 2023, but pushed back.
