KRAFTON India has announced the introduction of ‘Kiaraa,’ an original in-game character for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI), developed entirely by its in-house art team for players in the Indian market. Kiaraa is set to arrive as part of the BGMI 4.6 update, scheduled for release on October 8, 2026.
This launch marks a significant step in KRAFTON India’s strategy to integrate more localized content into BGMI, following the previous introduction of Anamika, the company’s first original character. Kiaraa will be the first character designed in India to feature a comprehensive in-game presence, including a unique origin story, a dedicated location on the Erangel map, and an associated collection of items.

KRAFTON India Localized Content Integration
Kiaraa’s introduction is accompanied by several India-specific features designed to enhance player engagement. These include:

The Bazaar: A new point of interest on the Erangel map, themed as a festive Indian market. This is the second India-themed location to be added to BGMI, following the Stepwell introduced in 2025. The Bazaar will serve as a dynamic environment for player interaction and combat.
Kiaraa’s Test (Boss Battle): A dedicated boss battle event taking place within the Bazaar. Players must locate and activate four peacock-shaped lamps to summon Kiaraa, who will challenge squads within a designated fight zone using bow-based attacks.
Kiaraa Nakshatra Collection: A range of in-game items, including the Kiaraa Nakshatra Set, Divine Peacock Glider, Divine Radiance SCAR-L weapon skin, and Divine Chariot Buggy, available through the Kiaraa Nakshatra Spin.
Diwali Prize Path: BGMI’s first progression path specifically designed for the Indian market, running from October 22 to November 15. It offers 20 levels of rewards, including items like the Revel 01 Set and the Diwali Gold Set.
Development and Strategic Focus
Shyam Deshpande, Director – Art at KRAFTON India, noted the artistic approach behind Kiaraa. “Kiaraa was envisioned as a character deeply integrated into the game world, complete with a location, a narrative, and a clear reason for her presence on the island,” Deshpande stated. He highlighted the peacock motif as a central design element, extending across various in-game assets and reflecting Indian craftsmanship while maintaining the visual standards expected by players.
Srinjoy Das, Director, Marketing and Product Management, KRAFTON India, emphasized the character’s tailored appeal for the Indian player base. “Indian players have influenced BGMI’s evolution, and Kiaraa is developed with them in mind,” Das commented. He underscored the character’s immersive integration, featuring an origin story, an interactive Bazaar, and a boss battle experience directly within the game. This strategy aims to create exclusive content for players in India.
This move by KRAFTON, Inc. (https://www.krafton.com/) signifies an ongoing commitment to developing region-specific content for BGMI, aiming to foster deeper connections with its Indian player community.
