Directed by Yeon Sang Ho — the man behind *Train to Busan* and *Peninsula* — *Colony* follows the chaos that erupts when a building is blockaded due to an unknown virus, with those infected evolving into unpredictable, threatening forms.

The newly released production video gives fans a peek behind the curtain with a star-studded cast sharing their first impressions. The director notes that unlike his previous projects, which focused on events within specific spaces, this time he wanted to centre the story on the zombies themselves — with the infected able to share information and evolve, a process he describes as an “update.”

## **Korean film Colony: Overview**

Koo Kyo Hwan said he was intrigued by the concept of infected individuals being “updated,” while Shin Hyun Been highlighted the unique mode of expression as what stood out to her. Jun Ji Hyun revealed she felt genuine fear during filming, and Ji Chang Wook and Go Soo also reflected on what it was like working with the new filming approach.

One of the most interesting production details: rather than leaning heavily on CGI, the production portrays the infected through choreography and the actors’ physical movements — from twisting bodies and crawling on all fours immediately after infection, to moving quickly on two legs or mimicking survivors’ behaviour. *Colony* has also been officially invited to the Midnight Screenings section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, earning critical attention before its theatrical premiere on May 21.
