KKR keeps their playoff hopes alive, defeating CSK by six wickets
Sunday’s game was a must-win for KKR, and they bagged a comfortable victory even after a shaky start. Home captain MS Dhoni chowed to bat first after winning the toss. His men could only put up a 145-run total on the board as they stumbled against KKR’s magnificent bowling attack.
KKR pillar Sunil Narine picked up two wickets, conceding just fifteen runs in four overs. Chakravarthy picked up two wickets too.
The men in yellow couldn’t really glitter up today except for Shivam Dube, who stood there till the end for a well-made 48 off 34 with three sixes and a boundary.
Comfortable win following a shaky start for the men in purple
Coming down to chase a small target, KKR didn’t have the ideal start, as they lost three wickets in the powerplay. However, thanks to Rinku Singh and skipper Nitish Rana’s match-winning partnership helped KKR chase down the target in 18.3 overs.
Coming down to bat at 33/3, Rinku Singh once again showed strength and character to help his team with yet another run chase. He has been phenomenal this season, especially with run chases, and no wonder why he has three Player of the Match awards in his cabinet, including today’s, this season.
It will be a happy skipper and fans as Kolkata keeps their hope alive for the playoffs. Lots of calculations will come, and they must win their last game against Lucknow on their home ground on Saturday.
