The team players are beginning their training this week at the Bidhannagar ground in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Experienced Bengal coach Krishnendu Roy is set to guide the players in this early training.

Later, the Spanish manager Kibu Vicuna will join the club. The former Osasuna youth coach and Osasuna assistant coach also managed the ISL team Kerala Blasters in the 2020/21 season. The 2019/20 I-League Champion manager for Mohun Bagan will reportedly land in Kolkata after 15th May 2022. However, there is some confusion about his role in the club.

On Monday (9th May), Aaj Tak Bangla reported that Vicuna would be the Head Coach of DHFC. Meanwhile, some other news reports are in doubt about Vicuna’s role as a Head Coach or Technical Director of the club.

According to these other reports, if Vicuna takes the TD role of the club, Krishnendu Roy then can be the Head Coach of the team. But if Vicuna plays the Head Coach role, then Roy is likely to take the assistant coach role.

DHFC hasn’t officially announced their head coach yet. However, former East Bengal goalkeeper Abhra Mondal is taking up the Goalkeeping Coaching role of the team.

Recently, the club has confirmed that the Indian Football Association (IFA) has permitted them to participate in the upcoming Calcutta Football League, First Division.

Popular Indian rapper and musician Yo Yo Honey Singh recently send his best wishes to this new club and its supporter.

Abhishek Banerjee not only wants to win the Calcutta Football League trophy, but he also targets to play in the future Indian Super League (ISL). The tagline of this new club is “DUMDAAR HAR BAAR DIAMOND HARBOUR”.
