Kia Syros SUV Teased with Bold Design and Features Ahead of December 19 Unveiling
Kia Syros shows an all-brand-new concept in the SUV segment for the company, implementing design features that have been spot if not exactly in their latest models of the EV3 and the K4 This side profile does echo that of Hyundai’s compact CUV, the Casper, but the Syros will likely be larger. Not much is known yet about its precise dimensions but it could be slotted between the Kia Sonet and the Seltos, the latter being positioned in the sub-4m and compact SUV segment respectively.
At the front, the Syros gets a tall bonnet that is definitely out of an SUV, and large LED DRLs supported by vertically-stacked LED headlights. The bumper is adorned with silver accents for a faux skid plate, along with a radar module for ADAS. Front elements like an erect windshield and top and bottom grilles hint that Syros could be an ICE-powered vehicle.
On the outside, the SUV features geometric 17-inch alloy wheels, tall roof rails, flush door handles, thick B-pillar, and black body cladding. The cladding takes on a squarish shape in contrast with the round wheel wells. The rear of the Syros features vertical LED tail light signatures, with lower brake lights embedded in the bumpers. In addition, it features a dual-pane panoramic glass roof.
On the inside, the Syros is expected to pack its cabin with features and technology galore, including dual 10.2-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, premium audio system, and ambient lighting. Safety features are expected to include six airbags and a Level-2 ADAS suite, similar to the Seltos. Powertrain details are yet to be confirmed, but the presence of two open grills suggests the Syros could be an ICE vehicle. More details will be revealed closer to the launch.
