Kia Seltos Facelift 2023 is here – Know Everything
Kia India has introduced the updated version of the Seltos, showcasing various enhancements and reintroducing the turbo-petrol engine. Customers will be able to book the Seltos facelift starting from July 14. While the Seltos was initially launched in India in August 2019, this midlife refresh comes almost four years later, following the global facelift in 2022. Kia proudly announced that it has sold over five lakh units of the Seltos since its initial launch.
All About the Kia Seltos Facelift
The exterior design of the Seltos facelift showcases several changes compared to the outgoing model. It features a slightly larger bumper, body-coloured inserts in the fog lamp housing, redesigned headlights with new LED daytime running lamps that extend into the grille, and a four-block design for the fog lamps. Additionally, the facelifted Seltos is equipped with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, previously exclusive to the X Line trim.
At the rear, it boasts new inverted L-shaped tail lights connected by an LED light bar, sequential turn indicators, and a redesigned bumper housing the reverse light. The refreshed design of the tailgate incorporates fewer chrome elements compared to the previous model. Kia also introduces a new color option called Pewter Olive, alongside eight other solid colors and two dual-tone options. The turbo-petrol variants come equipped with two exhaust tips, while the GT Line and X Line versions are distinguished by a subtly modified body kit in contrast to the Tech Line trims.
Inside the Seltos facelift, there is a notable upgrade with a dual-screen setup comprising two 10.25-inch displays. One serves as the digital instrument cluster, while the other functions as the touchscreen infotainment system. The center console has been refreshed with thinner AC vents and a redesigned panel for HVAC and media controls. Among the available choices, the X Line trim presents a new and vibrant sage green interior color, whereas the GT Line variants feature a refreshed black and white interior theme.
As for features, the Seltos facelift incorporates a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch heads-up display, an electronic parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, and a Bose-tuned 8-speaker system with sound mood lamps. In terms of safety, it comes equipped with 17 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) functions, including forward collision warning assist, blind spot collision warning, and lane keep assist. Standard safety features include six airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC), and Hill Assist Control.
The Seltos facelift keeps its 1.5-litre petrol engine, delivering 115hp and 144Nm, as well as the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, producing 116hp and 250Nm. The petrol variant offers a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the diesel variant is available with a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Notably, Kia has reintroduced a turbo-petrol engine for the Seltos facelift.
The new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine replaces the previous 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, which was discontinued in March 2023 due to non-compliance with BS6 Phase 2 emissions norms. The new turbo-petrol engine generates 160hp and 253Nm of torque, providing a 20hp and 11Nm increase over the previous version. It is paired with a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
