KIA India has opened the bookings for the EV6 electric crossover car. If you are seriously considering purchasing this car, you can book it for an amount of 3 lakh INR. Bookings can be done via 15 select KIA showrooms across India. You can also check the company’s official website to book the electric car online. The carmaker will officially launch the EV6 electric crossover on the 2nd of June in India.

The latest offering from KIA will be the first electric car that the Korean carmaker has made until now the brand has earned a name and carved a niche for SUVs and MPVs in India. The EV6 will join the Seltos, Sonet, Carnival, and Carens. As a part of a promo move, the carmaker will be driving the EV6 through the Completely Built Unit route to the country.
The latest car will not be made or assembled locally which is why there are only a limited number of cars that will be sold in the first phase. Only 100 units of the car will be offered at the start. If you are lucky, you can get one. KIA India’s MD and CEO, Tae-Jin Park said, “The Indian automotive industry is transforming, and KIA is at the forefront of this transformation. Time and again, we have proven it through our world-class products and services that cater not just to the unmet but also to the unfelt needs of Indias. The introduction of EV6 in the country reiterates the same.”
The EV6 is the cousin brother of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car, it also shares the Hyundai Group’s dedicated EV platform dubbed the Electric-Global Modular Platform or E-GMP. This is packed with a 77.4kWh battery pack, the EV6 is touted to offer a range of 528 KMS on a single charge as per WLTP.
The latest car will be offered in two variants, GT and the GT-Line AWD. While the RWD version can produce a maximum output of 229 hp and 350nm torque, the AWD version is more powerful with 347hp of maximum power and peak torque of 605 Nm. The EV6 can go from 0 to 100 in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 192 KMPH.
The EV6 is set to be one of the first electric cars to be launched this year, it will be pitted against the Volvo XC40 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 amongst others. The car can be priced at around 60 lakh INR.
