Manchester United picked up a big win against Arsenal thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a brace. The Red Devils now have a win against their old rivals, in the final game under Michael Carrick. The caretaker manager will now make way for Ralf Rangnick, who has received his work permit and will be taking charge of the team for the rest of the season.

After winning against Newcastle United, Arsenal have had to deal with another loss to a big club. Liverpool took three points off them in the game prior to that. They now find themselves in sixth position, and have managed to turn things around after the horrific start to the season.

United, on the other hand, find themselves in seventh place in the table. They have had to deal with a number of defeats in recent weeks, but have managed to take four points off their big six rivals Chelsea and Arsenal in their most recent games.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 800th career goal in the game, and his 129th for Manchester United. The forward has also faced questions about his pressing ability given his age, but Ronaldo pressed 27 times, which is his most so far. This will silence some of the doubts surrounding his capabilities at 36.

His fellow countryman, Bruno Fernandes, also became the first player to score on his 100th appearance for the club since Antonio Valencia in 2012.

Emile Smith-Rowe continued his form for Arsenal, becoming the second youngest player to score for the Gunners at Old Trafford after Nicolas Anelka as a teenager.

Both teams are in action again this weekend in the Premier League. United face Crystal Palace while Arsenal take on Everton.
