Manchester United are in the market to sign a new number 2 goalkeeper before the transfer window closes. Dean Henderson was sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest earlier in the window, and the Englishman is now the number 1 for Steve Cooper’s side.

Kevin Trapp, Yann Sommer and Martin Dubravka have all been rumoured as potential options for Erik Ten Hag’s side. However, Trapp has [refused a transfer to United](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1562704740706058240?s=20&t=B5xw0OsTpz7X41kpeH7fZg) to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt, with whom he won the Europa League this past season.

“I received a written proposal from Manchester United – (one of the) world’s top clubs. Yesterday, I informed those responsible at both clubs that I had decided to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt,” the goalkeeper said.

## Manchester United considering bid for Martin Dubravka

The Newcastle United goalkeeper has been replaced by Nick Pope, who joined the Magpies from Burnley after they were relegated.

As a result, the two clubs will now discuss a loan move for Dubravka for him to compete with David De Gea for the ongoing season. The discussions will reveal whether a buy option is to be included for the player or not.

Manchester United recently completed the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid. And now, they are expected to [sign Antony from Ajax as well](https://technosports.co.in/2022/08/24/the-latest-on-antony-to-man-utd-ajax/). The player is keen on the move, and an official bid is expected very soon.
