Marvel fans, buckle up — **Kevin Feige** just gave us the most revealing look yet into **Avengers: Secret Wars**, and it sounds like the MCU is about to go bigger than ever before.

#### Kevin Feige: A “New Story” Built From Comic History

Feige shared his thoughts in a fresh foreword for the rerelease of Jonathan Hickman’s acclaimed 2015 *Secret Wars* comic run. He explained that Marvel Studios draws from Marvel’s rich, nearly 90-year comics history to make movies that honor the source material while becoming something entirely different. According to Feige, that same approach will shape the MCU’s version of *Secret Wars*, blending Hickman’s storyline with decades of Marvel lore into a fresh cinematic narrative. For context on the source material driving all this hype, [Secret Wars (Wikipedia)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_Wars_(comics)) is a great primer on the original comic arc and its multiverse-shattering stakes.

#### Doctor Doom Takes Center Stage

Perhaps the biggest tease of all: Feige confirmed that Doctor Doom will become the centerpiece of the story, positioning him as the MCU’s most significant villain yet. Feige also promised fans long-awaited character moments they’ve dreamed of but never seen realized on screen — a strong hint that this film will unite heroes across timelines and universes.
