Chelsea and Independiente del Valle have exchanged the documents for the transfer of Kendry Paez. The youngster will move to London in 2025, when he turns 18. For the time being, he will continue with Independiente and will develop his skills further.

A long-term contract has been signed by the player, and a club statement is now expected confirming the transfer. Independiente will receive a sum worth €20 million for their player, but the main part of the transfer fee is in the form of add-ons.

Paez has been very highly rated by his club, as well as Chelsea. And there will be high expectations from him when he eventually joins the West London club in a few years.

Ecuador have been producing some very talented players in recent years. Alongside Kendry Paez, Moises Caicedo, Pervis Estupinan and Piero Hincapie have attracted a lot of praise for their qualities on the pitch.

Chelsea have been signing young players left and right under the ownership of Todd Boehly. Andrey Santos is expected to join the club in the summer, while Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slolina, Omari Hutchinson and more have already been signed for the future project.

It now remains to be seen as to whether Mauricio Pochettino gets the final nod as the new Chelsea manager and whether he can rebuild the club into something new.
