In a video message shared on social media, the filmmaker directly addressed speculation and clarified that the April 10 date is definitely not the release date. Balaji promised that an official announcement regarding the exact release date will come within the next 7-10 days, asking fans to be patient as the team finalizes production details.

Speaking directly to fans in his video message, RJ Balaji stated: “Definitely it is not on April 10. Let me tell that to you now itself.” He acknowledged the long wait and expressed understanding of fan disappointment, but reassured audiences that the film is ready and the team is working on finalizing details before the official announcement.

Balaji emphasized: “I understand the disappointment the fans, especially Suriya’s fans have, as this statement has been said multiple times before. Of course, it has been a long wait, for me too. I have been working on this for almost two years.”

RJ Balaji also addressed persistent rumors claiming there had been a fallout between the producer, director, and music composer. He stated: “There are a lot of rumours that claim that the producer has had a fallout with the director, or the music director, or even another producer. I understand the frustration of the wait. Trust me everyone will like this film. There’s no conflict whatsoever.”

Karuppu is an action-drama film featuring Suriya in a dual role as a village head and a lawyer named Saravanan/Karuppu. The character teasers revealed that Suriya plays a lawyer who becomes possessed by a deity and fights against injustice faced by marginalized sections of society. Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead opposite Suriya, marking their on-screen collaboration.

The supporting cast includes Malayalam actor Indrans, Tamil actors Yogi Babu and Natty Subramaniam, alongside Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maaya Ravi. Director RJ Balaji will also make a cameo appearance in the film.
