In a week dominated by *Dhurandhar: The Revenge*‘s record-breaking rampage, a quiet Tamil film with no big-name star quietly put up numbers that Kollywood is buzzing about. *Youth*, written, directed, and headlined by Ken Karunaas, grossed ₹28 crore gross at the Indian box office in its 8-day extended opening week — a genuinely solid achievement for a film with no established star face.

## Why These Numbers Actually Matter

Let’s put this in perspective. What works very well for *Youth* is its content — the film garnered a strongly positive reception from audiences, which helped it build momentum through the week. It has now joined *Thaai Kizhavi* as another HIT for Kollywood in 2026.

The film found minimal competition in its home state, as *Dhurandhar: The Revenge*‘s dubbed Tamil version did not release widely there, giving *Youth* a clear upper hand during its crucial first week. [Filmibeat](https://www.filmibeat.com/celebs/richie-mehta/upcoming-movies.html)

Region-wise, Tamil Nadu contributed ₹25 crore, Karnataka added ₹2.25 crore, and the rest of India chipped in ₹75 lakh.

The supporting cast includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, Devadarshini, Anishma Anilkumar, Priyanshi Yadav, and Meenakshi Dinesh — a strong ensemble that clearly elevated the film’s appeal.
