The new rules state that this prestigious award of football will be received by the best player during a football season from July to June and not in a year. Karim Benzema has this golden chance because he scored 24 La Liga Santander goals, five goals with the French national team and also has scored a hat-trick against PSG and Chelsea. He also had UEFA Nations League success with France in October.
Karim Benzema has formed an excellent partnership with Vinicius Jr this season which will help Benzema to score more goals in La Liga Santander and the Champions League. So, if the Real Madrid star wins the Ballon d’Or then he will be the fourth French player to win the Ballon d’Or.
