## The Story Behind the Suspense

*Kankhajura* follows Ashu (Roshan Mathew), released early from prison on the condition that he becomes a police informant. Returning to his hometown in Goa, he tries rebuilding a fractured bond with his brother Max (Mohit Raina) — only to be pulled into a spiral of deception and hidden agendas. The series is an official Hindi remake of the acclaimed Israeli drama *Magpie*, originally created for Yes Studios.

## Why the Cast Makes It Work

What elevates *Kankhajura* beyond a typical crime thriller is its ensemble. Roshan Mathew’s morally gray performance anchors the show, while Mohit Raina brings quiet intensity as the brother caught in the crossfire. Trinetra Haldar’s inclusion adds a rare, grounded layer of LGBTQIA+ representation rarely seen in mainstream Indian thrillers.
