On Monday, the Actress Kajol unveiled the official trailer of the spicy political drama series ‘The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha’. Last week, the actress Kajol declared that she might be taking a break from social media. The most shocking information was shared on both her Instagram and Twitter accounts. The actress has even deleted all her posts on Instagram.
Kajol’s debut on an online streaming platform can be seen in “The Trial,” a courtroom legal drama. The recently released trailer, which lasts just over two minutes, gives viewers an exciting glimpse into her character, Noyonika Sengupta. Noyonika is a homemaker who is compelled to restart her career as a lawyer because of the highly-publicized scandal involving her husband.
This web series is mainly the official Hindi adaptation of the famous American legal and political drama The Good Wife. In the Bollywood version, we have seen Julianna Margulies in the lead role. The story of the Bollywood legal drama The Good Wife revolves around a woman who returns to her profession as a lawyer after her husband gets arrested in a scandal that lands him in jail.
The actress came to her social media accounts and shared the motion poster of the series and wrote, “The tougher the trial, the harder you come back! Coming soon only on @DisneyPlusHS.” Soon after the announcement of the series, Kajol’s earlier social media posts were restored on her Instagram account. The Salaam Venky actress has found netizens’ attention after this post became viral. “The toughest trial of my life” which Kajol wrote about in her post, is indicating the plot of her upcoming show. The actress has expressed her excitement about this new journey, Kajol states, “I have been playing multiple characters throughout my acting journey, but the firsts are always special.

The new trailer for this series starts with Kajol entering into terms with her husband. Jisshu Sengupta has appeared as an additional judge. Getting arrested for accepting sexual favours as bribes to change verdicts. After getting angry, she slaps him for ‘cheating on her’. Before joining him like a dutiful wife, he was taken away in a police van after the news broke. As the trailer continues we see she looks at the media gathered outside her house, Kajol says in Hindi, “A mistake repeated more than once, it is not a mistake. It is a choice.”
Next, Kajol’s Noyonika has to take some action that she hasn’t taken in years. She returns to the courtroom. She has faced judgment from fellow lawyers and the public alike as she is seeking justice for herself and also her family.
Kajol stated, “The complexities are what defines a character to me and the layers surrounding Noyonika are what spoke to me when this role first came over. Noyonika felt personal, I instantly felt protective about her and that reaffirmed my faith in choosing ‘The Trial – Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka’ on Disney+ Hotstar to be my first step into the long format. Suparn Varma has built a world where the vulnerability of characters meets the cruel situations posed by life. The audience will feel for and feel one with Noyonika as she makes difficult choices because I did.”
