Kaithi fans, this one’s for you — and it’s big. After years of waiting, whispers, and uncertainty, there’s finally a concrete sign that **Kaithi 2 is inching closer to reality**. Dream Warrior Pictures, the production house behind the original cult hit, has reportedly submitted a **30-second promo titled *Dilli*** to the censor board, with the glimpse reportedly certified on **February 19, 2026**. No official announcement yet — but in film industry terms, a censor certificate is as real as it gets.

## Why This News Has Fans Going Wild

The original *Kaithi* (2019) was nothing short of a phenomenon — a relentless, one-night action thriller with zero songs and zero romance that became one of Tamil cinema’s most beloved films. Karthi’s portrayal of **Dilli**, an ex-convict trying to meet his daughter for the first time, was raw, emotional, and unforgettable. The sequel has been in limbo for years. Lokesh Kanagaraj kept fans in suspense, first hinting he’d take it up after *Coolie*, then pivoting to the Allu Arjun collaboration **AA23 (LK07)** as his next directorial. As recently as January 2026, Karthi himself said he had no updates and only Lokesh could confirm.

That makes this censor certificate news all the more exciting — someone is clearly moving forward.

## The LCU Connection — What It Means for the Bigger Universe

Kaithi was the **founding film of the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU)**, which later expanded to include *Vikram* (Kamal Haasan) and *Leo* (Vijay). The upcoming film *Benz*, starring Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly, is also confirmed as part of the LCU. A Kaithi sequel would be a massive entry point back into this universe — and fans have been waiting for Dilli’s return since *Vikram* dropped easter eggs about his fate.
