Chelsea star Kai Havertz has been making the headlines recently for all good reasons. He left Bayer Leverkusen last summer and joined Chelsea as their most expensive signing. He repaid their faith in him by scoring the winning goal in the Champions League 2021 final and lifting the trophy.

Kai Havertz is currently on international duty with Germany for Euro 2020. Germany lost to France by a slender margin as Hummels scored an own goal, which was the only goal of the match.

22 – Aged 22 years and 8 days old, Kai Havertz is Germany's youngest ever goalscorer in a European Championship game, and youngest at any major tournament (World Cup/Euros) since Thomas Müller against Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup (20y 300d). Talent. #GER #EURO2020 pic.twitter.com/Y6nAj0FLSF

Germany had to win their match against Portugal to keep their qualification hopes alive. Robin Goosens was the standout performer of the match, but Havertz also played a vital role. He forced an error off Ruben Dias, which ended up in Portugal’s goal as Germany levelled the match 1-1.

The third German goal was beautifully scored by Kai Havertz. He was in the right position in the right moment to tap in the ball into the net and become Germany’s youngest ever goalscorer in a European Championship game, aged 22 years and 8 days old.

He is also the youngest goalscorer at any major tournament (World Cup/European Championships) since Thomas Müller against Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup ( aged 20y 300d).

Kai Havertz is surely some talent, and he has a long way to go, but it seems he has it in him to stay at the top level.
