The Brazilian winger has been frozen out at Juventus. Last season he only scored 1 goal and provided 5 assists in 23 Serie A appearances.

New Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo doesn’t have the 30-year-old in his plans. He wanted to send him out on loan to free up space for Federico Chiesa, who is about to join from Fiorentina on loan for €10m with an obligation to buy for a further €50m.

Bayern Munich were in the hunt for a winger. They initially targeted Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi but Frank Lampard was reluctant to let him leave. So Bayern has now signed their former player on a season-long loan with no option to buy.

Douglas Costa joined Bayern Munich in 2015 and played at the Allianz Arena until 2017. He was then first loaned to Juventus for €6m and then Juventus bought him permanently for €40m in 2018.

Costa will now join the Bavarians once again and would provide support to Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry in the flanks.
