Arsenal and Liverpool were also in the race for the Italian midfielder, but he only wanted to move to Juventus. And now, he has the chance to play for arguably the biggest club in Italy. Locatelli’s desire to make the move to Turin was confirmed by the CEO of Sassuolo as well, and he now makes the long-awaited transfer.

Locatelli emerged as one of the most important players for the black and green club, and added a lot of stability to their midfield. He was also very impressive for Roberto Mancini’s Italy team in the Euros, playing the initial few games prior to the return of Marco Verratti from injury. Locatelli went on to win the tournament with the Italy squad, but it was his weekly work with Sassuolo that got Juventus interested in him.

The 23-year-old came through the AC Milan academy and did not initially manage to break into their first team. He then joined Sassuolo in 2019 and improved his game drastically. Under Max Allegri, he is expected to be one of the focal points of Juventus’ midfield alongside Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie.
