Despite managing Real Madrid towards a 34th title-winning LaLiga campaign, Zinedine Zidane’s future at the club has taken a hit due to his team’s performances this time around. Los Blancos currently find themselves in second place in the league right now, six points behind city rivals Atletico and having played an extra game.
As is natural in situations like these, there have been rumours circulating that are linking the Madrid boss with an exit from the club. Although this time, the decision will come from the board and not due to expiry of the contract.
Past glories count for nothing when managing a club like Real Madrid, and Zidane himself is the best person to observe this on. The Frenchman managed to win a hat-trick of Champions League titles with the club but is still not immune to the pressures of managing Los Merengues.
Elsewhere in Turin, Italy, there have been whispers that Juventus are looking at Zinedine Zidane as a replacement for Andrea Pirlo at the end of the current season due to their performance in the league this season. However, speaking on the topic on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio confirmed that no one called Zidane for Juventus.
The Bianconeri are backing Pirlo to lead the club, and do not see any reason to replace the former player with another legendary Juventus midfielder. These things will be decided in May or June and not now. The bottom line remains that Juventus are happy with Pirlo and are not cold contacting anybody else for the job.
