The black and yellow club is renowned for developing youngsters into gems, and Lerma could be the latest in the list considering how highly he is rated.
Several other clubs, including those from Spain, were interested in signing the Ecuadorian. But, Dortmund have won the race and have secured a top talent for their future.
The final amount paid for the transfer is lower than €9 million including add-ons, making it yet another incredible piece of business if the midfielder can find his form once he makes the move to Europe in two years.
