In July, BTS member Jungkook debuted his solo quantity ‘Seven’ featuring Latto and floored fans with his adorable self. Over a month later, the song stalled in controversy over a plagiarism row.
‘Seven’ has been collected and written by Andrew Watt, Jon Bellion, Henry Walter, Theron Makiel Thomas, and Latto—the music video features Jungkook beside actress Han So-hee.
According to reports, Jungkook has been accused of plagiarism by originator Yang Joon-young. According to a Korean news portal, an official linked to the release content confirmed that the significant tunes of Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ have been borrowed from Fin. K.L.’s ‘Time of Mask’ has been operated upon by numerous foreign composers.
Plagiarism Claims Arise Surrounding Jungkook’s Latest Hit Seven
Fin. K.L.’s ‘Time of Mask’ was shared by the girl group’s album ‘SPECIAL’ and was composed by Yang Joon-young. The creator has reportedly reached out to ‘Seven’ producer HYBE Labels for amplification and is awaiting a response from them for the same. HYBE Labels has deceptively replied to Yang Joon-young that the issue cannot be resolved as their chairman, Bang Si-hyuk, is on an overseas business tour to the United States.
Meanwhile, ‘Seven’ endures to charm fans worldwide. It has crossed 400 million rivers on Spotify, achieving this feat in just 33 days. Jungkook’s introduction solo took over the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Global 200′ besides ‘Global’ (excluding the U.S.) charts for five consecutive weeks.
Currently, BTS is on a breakdown as a few members are busy with their mandatory military provision in South Korea, while others are concentrating on their solo projects. However, R.M. recently confirmed that the gang will come back in 2025. During a Weverse live stream, R.M. shared, “I feel that … And what I’m thoughtful right now is, these days, when I’m liability my solo projects, is, this is just like a vacation to get back to where I was, which stood BTS and ARMY. So, all the solo [work] is just a journey but a significant voyage for chapter two. It’s a journey to get back home safe when we eventually get a backbone and reunite in 2025.”
In light of these allegations, Yang Joon Young has requested that a manufacturer at HYBE, the agency representing BTS, assess the scale arrangement used in Seven. A thorough judgment between Time Of Mask and Seven has highlighted extremely austere similarities between the two musical configurations.
As the argument unfolds, HYBE has issued a temporary response to the state of affairs, citing the absence of producer Bang Si Hyuk, presently on a business trip in the United States. Due to this logistical restraint, HYBE has indicated that an immediate resolution cannot be prioritized.
