Jungkook and Usher: An Iconic Collaboration and Military Commitment

BTS‘s Jungkook and Usher formed an iconic duo with their collaboration on “Standing Next To You,” showcasing a powerful blend of K-pop and hip-hop. To everyone’s surprise, he convinced Usher to ask Jungkook to the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show with him. Usher and Justin were set to team up on a remix of Usher’s track, “Then There’s Me” — of the singers’ respective recent LPs.

Unfortunately, Jungkook had to turn the offer down because he was unable due to his mandatory military service. Taking advantage of South Korea’s buddy system, he enlisted in December 2023 together with fellow BTS member Jimin. Following five weeks of basic training, Jungkook became an official army cook and is due to be discharged from the military in June 2025.

Jungkook just became a hot topic amongst the general public because of his calls from major record labels.) A monster hit, he launched his solo career with the July 2023 single “Seven.”

He then went on to collaborate with The Kid LAROI which broadened his horizons even more. Last June, he dropped the fan-favorite “Never Let Go” on a special day to mark BTS’ 11th anniversary. Premiering with a global splash on September 18 was his documentary, JUNGKOOK: I AM STILL which contained candid interviews and a concert video behind the scenes.

Although fans can’t see Jungkook’s Super Bowl performance this year, they come because Jungkook continues to serve as an active-duty military member and attracts all attention for his recent achievements. In November 2023 he released his album GOLDEN, featuring tracks such as “Yes or No,” “Seven,” “Too Sad To Dance” and more- totaling eleven songs that ARMYs have loved so far. Despite his active duty status, Jungkook’s commitment to the military and music will make sure he is always a fan-favorite in the entertainment world.
