Qatari club Al Ahli SC have completed the signing of PSG midfielder Julian Draxler on a permanent deal. The transfer fee paid is in excess of €20 million for a player who only had one year left on his contract, and barely featured for the first team over the last few seasons.

Last week, it was reported that the player had decided to stay at PSG for the coming season. But later on, PSG pushed to sell him to the Qatari club for a fee far in excess of his market value.

The German has arrived in Qatar to complete his medical tests ahead of the transfer and will sign a contract until 2025. He follows fellow PSG teammate Marco Verratti to Qatar, after the Italian was signed by Al Arabi for a fee worth €40 million.

PSG have recruited several young players ahead of the season, with Milan Skriniar, Manuel Ugarte, Marco Asensio, Kang-in Lee, Arnau Tenas, Cher Ndour and Ousmane Dembele joining the club this summer.

They have moved Neymar on to the Saudi Pro League while Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos left as free agents. There were rumours that Kylian Mbappe could leave once again, after he refused to extend his contract for one more season. But, while the Frenchman has stayed on in Paris for 23/24, he could move on for free next year.
