After a brilliant spell at River Plate in his native, Argentina, the striker made the move to Manchester City. He quickly made an impact as a supersub behind Erling Haaland, helping the team win the treble.
However, the Norwegian was always going to be the first-choice striker in Manchester. And now, the Argentinian is seemingly moving on to get more game time. And under Diego Simeone, he could be one of the top players in the squad.
Julian Alvarez will be one of the most expensive signings in Atletico Madrid’s history once he completes his move. And shortly after, Samu Omorodion will make the move to Chelsea for a reported €35 million.
Atletico Madrid are also expected to complete the signing of Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in the coming hours. The midfielder is set to travel to the Spanish capital today for his medical assessment.
