After the words of Lionel Messi about Ronaldo’s departure, former Spain coach, Julen Lopetegui warned Barcelona captain.
Julen Lopetegui told not to underestimate Ronaldo less Real Madrid as the Barcelona star believes that the departure of Ronaldo weakened Real Madrid. Lionel Messi also believes that Juventus is one of the favourites to win this season’s Champions League.
Though the three consecutive champions League winner didn’t have a good start. They lost to Atletico de Madrid in UEFA SUPER Cup. But they have started their La Liga campaign smoothly by claiming nine points in three matches.
After nine years, the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi has ended in domestic league. Messi said: “It’s evident that the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo makes Real Madrid less good and makes Juventus one of the clear favourites to win the Champions League”.
After that Real Madrid coach, Lopetegui responded. He said: “I would not doubt the players of Real Madrid. We have done okay but it is only the start and we have three weeks ahead with the Champions League. We have achieved the aim of nine points and now we need to reflect. The players need to come back fit and we will see what happens. Our target is everything this season. With the league you have to always be on form and it rewards consistency but we want to win everything.”
