Juan Mata has been spotted training with Danish side FC Nordsjaelland, alongside former Chelsea teammate Michael Essien, who is currently the assistant coach there.
The Spaniard has been without a club since leaving Vissel Kobe in Japan at the start of February. He won the league title with them, but made only one appearance after signing for them in September. Now, it looks like the midfielder could be on his way back to European football.

Mata has had a brilliant career, having played for Valencia, Chelsea and Manchester United before moving to Galatasaray. The veteran won the Turkish Lig with Gala as well, before he moved to Vissel Kobe to try out a new experience, and won the league with them too.
As announced by the club on their official social media account, the 36-year-old has family in Sweden and is looking for a place to train near Malmo. He is the co-founder of Common Goal, a charitable organisation of which Nordsjaelland is a member. And therefore, he has been allowed to use the club’s facilities for the foreseeable future.
