Joselu is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the month, following the expiry of his loan deal from Espanyol. The striker will be joining Qatari side Al Gharafa, in spite of Carlo Ancelotti wanting to keep him at the club.
The Spaniard has agreed to leave Europe, and is expected to finalise the details of the contract in the coming days to complete the transfer.
Joselu’s incredible end to the 23/24 season
The 34-year-old played for Real Madrid’s Castilla side in 2010, and is admittedly a lifelong fan of Los Blancos. He was able to end his loan spell in a fairytale manner, winning not only the LaLiga title, but also playing an important part in Madrid’s Champions League win.

He scored the brace against Bayern Munich after coming off the bench to help the La Liga winners make it to the finals, before eventually lifting the trophy for the 15th time.
Joselu bowing out at the peak of his career
The striker scored 17 goals and three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions this season, in spite of starting only 19 games. Now, he has been called up to the Euros for the Spain national team, as the backup to Alvaro Morata.
With Endrick and Kylian Mbappe both joining Real Madrid this summer, Joselu has made a wise decision to leave, given he might not have as much playing time in the coming season had he stayed. And with a final big payday in Qatar, he could be set up well for life after football.
