As the world walked towards the closure of the Money in the Bank (2021) main event, a sudden blare of sound raged across the entire stadium, racing the heartbeats of millions of fans around the globe. Just minutes after a grueling war between universal champion Roman Reigns and Edge, as Reigns stood tall in the ring proclaiming his win, the unexpected happened. The WWE rings witnessed John Cena sprinting to the ring and running the ropes, resilient, after more than a year marking his return.
It was last in 2017 when Cena had a fight with Reigns at the No Mercy PPV, where he ended up losing that match. And a year-round since he fought at WrestleMania 36, termed as the ‘cinematic match’ where he lost to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a “Firefly Funhouse” match, dismantling his wrestling career. Thus, 18th July 2021 will forever remain a memorable day in the calendars for the WWE PVV. It not only ended along with a stellar Raw women’s title match and a fascinating Bank ladder match in the men’s Money but also marked the beginning of the great Summer Slam in march, with John Cena leading the parade, the show-stealer at Thunderdome.
Now time will only say who the whole world will acknowledge, while who will lose his throne. But as of now, all we can do now is to wait, wondering what surprises our dear Dominic Toretto (aka John Cena) is back with to surprise us.
