Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha has signed a new contract with the club until 2028, ending the foreseeable speculation about his future. The player was close to signing for Bayern this summer, completing a medical for the German giants as well as taking pictures in their kit.
But, the move fell through after the two clubs were unable to exchange documents within the transfer deadline. As a result, the midfielder ended up staying in London and has now committed his future to the club. But, it seemingly won’t stop Bayern from trying to sign him in the January transfer window.
Joao Palhinha signs new contract with Fulham until 2028
“A lot of history happened for me, you heard a lot of things about my future, but I’m just focused on Fulham”.
“I always have 100% commitment with this club,” Joao Palhinha said upon the official announcement of his renewal.
“Since I arrived at Fulham, the affection and connection created will last forever regardless of what happens, that can never be called into question. I am grateful for all the support that the fans have given me since my first official game. And it is with this same strength that my teammates and I are counting on in our next game at our Cottage.”
The Portuguese midfielder was one of the standout performers in the Premier League last season, and helped his side achieve a respectable 10th place finish.
