Joachim Low has emerged as one of the candidates to become the next manager of Brazil. The 63-year-old was in charge of Germany for 15 years, but stepped down after the 2020 Euros held in 2021 when his side were eliminated by eventual finalists England.
He has since been away from management, but feels that the opportunity could be exciting. He helped the German national team win the World Cup in 2014, but could not find much success in subsequent editions.
Joachim Low emerges as surprise candidate to become Brazil head coach
“I already have the intention of taking on a task in football again,” Joachim Low recently told Kicker.
“The fun in this sport is too much for that.
“I feel motivated again when I watch football now – that wasn’t the case for a few months.”
He then added: “If I feel a task appeals to me, I’m ready and attack again.”
Currently, Ramon Menezes is the interim manager of the Brazil national team. Tite was relieved of his duties as manager after Brazil were eliminated by Croatia on penalties at the quarter final stage in Qatar.
However, Low is not the only candidate that is being considered right now. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, Roma’s Jose Mourinho and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola have been linked with the role. But, no decision has been made as of yet in spite of the friendlies approaching very soon.
