JetSynthesys, a pioneering company in the realm of digital entertainment and technology, recently wrapped up the first season of India’s most significant esports event, the Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL).
The grand finale took place at Pune’s Balewadi Stadium on December 8th, featuring intense matches among the top four teams – New York Apes, London Rhinos, Kolkata Hawks, and Dubai Vipers. The showdown ended with the Dubai Vipers securing the championship title, triumphing over the New York Apes. The winners and top performers were awarded an impressive total prize fund of Rs. 2.51 crore.

The inaugural GEPL was broadcast on JioCinema and Sports18, and also marked the launch of Real Cricket™ 24, India’s premier esportable game. This free-to-play mobile cricket simulation game, which is recognised globally, has already amassed 27 crore downloads and garners between 1.2 and 1.5 crore plays per month. The tournament successfully merged the excitement of video gaming with the universal passion for cricket, captivating millions of viewers daily.
Rajan Navani, the league promoter and CEO of JetSynthesys, expressed his delight at the success of GEPL’s maiden season, praising the dedication and innovation that brought this vision to life. He commended the winning team and all the participating players for their skills, sportsmanship, and unwavering determination.
Famous gamers like Shreeman Legend, Dynamo, Soneeta Thapa Magar, and others were present at the grand finale to boost the spirits of the players. The event also featured dynamic performances by popular rappers EPR Iyer, Henny Papi, and others, adding to the overall excitement of the crowd and players.

Embarking on this exceptional journey, GEPL initiated registrations from June 28 to July 8, amassing over 2 lakh entries from a pool of over 1 crore e-Cricket enthusiasts, each dedicating an average of an hour a day to the sport of Real Cricket. Following this impressive prelude, qualifiers unfolded from July 14 to August 10, unleashing fierce competition within the revered arena. Participants battled through exhilarating single-elimination matches, striving to emerge as the crème de la crème—the top 100 players. As the dust settled, these athletes progressed to the esteemed draft phase.
