After the official statement by Sevilla, Navas came out with one of his own where he revealed that the club made no offers to him to renew his contract. He expressed a lot of disappointment in his message to the fans, and the situation has been dealt with swiftly by the President, Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco.

“My desire, which I have communicated to the President, is to continue playing until December in a transition to continue helping the team. Then I will hang up my boots having lived the dream that I always dreamed of playing for.”

“In the my final few months as a professional footballer I will not earn my salary. Instead, the money will be donated to a foundation which has been agreed with the president. That is my decision. I want the fans to know everything,” said Navas.

Jesus Navas came up through the club’s academy, and is their record appearance maker, having played 688 games across all competitions, 500 of which have been in LaLiga. He has won four Europa League titles with them, alongside two Copa del Rey titles. Now, his incredible journey with the club will continue for the next six months after which he will take up a new challenge.
