The graphics giant’s RTX 30-series has been well received by the fans in terms of improvements and performance. However, one thing is to be noted is that people have shown maximum outrage against NVIDIA due to its shortage in stocks for both the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080.
Now, the RTX 3070 GPU also gets delayed because NVIDIA is indeed facing GPU shortage and indeed this $499 GPU that outdoes the last year’s flagship at less than half its cost will make more buyers to go for it.
However, don’t get me wrong, but you might not get your hands-on the GPU easily because NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has publicly admitted the GPU shortages its company is facing. During a Q&A session after the GTC Digital 2020 NVIDIA CEO Huang did confirm that both GeForce RTX 3090/3080 shortages are to be expected until 2021.
Although he won’t directly say about RTX 3070; still the shortages and delay in launch do show that the mid-range GPU too will not be an easy cup of tea. When retailers are actually fighting over each shipment to fulfil their preorder queues, manufacturers seem to provide daily updates and apologizing for the delay in graphics card availability.
Huang described to be a result of: “there is no supply but a demand issue”, but this thing is obviously vague because they have actually rushed the launch. This is indeed because of the upcoming Xbox and PlayStation consoles accompanies by AMD’s upcoming RX 6000 series RDNA 2 based GPUs.
Only time can tell when people can buy these new RTX GPUs at right prices and with wide availability.
