West Ham United have pulled off their biggest signing of the summer in Jean-Clair Todibo, hijacking Juventus’ bid to sign the defender. They have reached an agreement with OGC Nice and the player for a transfer on a loan deal with the obligation to buy.
The buy option included is worth €40 million, and also includes a sell-on clause. As a result, Nice will be entitled to any future fee that the Hammers receive for the former Barcelona defender.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from Manchester United as well as Juventus. While the Bianconeri were expected to complete the signing of the French defender, they have been unable to agree terms with Nice.
West Ham United have swiftly completed the deal and have added to an already impressive transfer window so far. They’ve signed Max Kilman from Wolves, Guido Rodriguez on a free transfer, Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United and Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund to reinforce their squad.
And with Todibo also joining them, Julen Lopetegui now has a very strong squad at his disposal heading into the new season.
When was Todibo at Barcelona?
