East Bengal have unveiled new signing Jeakson Singh to their fans today. The midfielder arrives for an ISL record fee worth ₹3.3 crore, also making him the most expensive player in the history of the Red and Golds.

The India national team player has signed a four-year contract with the Kalinga Super Cup winners, and could be a game-changing addition to the squad ahead of the coming season.

East Bengal sign Jeakson Singh after missing out on Apuia

Singh has been hailed as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league, but his future was up in the air as his contract with Kerala Blasters was set to expire in 2025. After failing to agree a new deal, the club ultimately decided to sell him.

A bidding war ensued between East Bengal, Mohun Bagan SG and several other ISL clubs. But, the Torch Bearers were eventually able to get the deal over the line.

They were also interested in signing Apuia earlier in the transfer window, but missed out as he ended up joining their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan SG from Mumbai City FC. But that hasn’t stopped East Bengal from reinforcing their midfield, which now seems complete with the addition of Jeakson Singh, Madih Talal and Saul Crespo also present to add more quality alongside Souvik Chakrabarti and Mark Zothanpuia.

Which number will Jeakson Singh wear at East Bengal?

Number 6
