The Coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc in the whole world. All the sporting activities were suspended since March. It has now resumed but the matches are taking place behind closed doors with no signs of when the fans can be allowed once again.

This has put all the clubs in a huge financial crisis as they are losing out on their primary revenue, the daily matchday ticket sales. The Spanish top-flight is no different.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has predicted that the health crisis will turn into an economic crisis, as reported by Marca.

Tebas stressed on the only upside during this period. He said: “At the audiovisual level we have tripled the value of the audience.”

Tebas commented on the difficulties they had last season due to COVID: “Last season it was easier to finish the championship since UEFA had suspended the Champions League, but now we will not do it, then it will be more difficult. LaLiga is much more attentive now to what is happening than at the end of last season. “

To avoid the stoppage of the competition, LaLiga is currently carrying out two specific containment plans, Tebas has explained each of them: “The first strategy was to take care of the sports field, but also of the entire sector. If the matches were not played, dozens of jobs would be at stake. The second strategy is the so-called bubble. Each player has their own protocols to follow. This every time they return from a trip must be checked through tests. It is the only way to avoid the contagion within that bubble we live in. It is very important that no one enters that bubble since the locker room is the most dangerous place at the level of contagion. “

In the event that the competition had to be suspended, eradicate in that the problem will transfer from health to economic levels: “We would be very sorry if it stops once again because otherwise, we would go from a health problem to an economic crisis, which it’s just as dangerous. We’ve managed to fix it a bit. “
