Bengaluru FC have announced that Javi Hernandez has left the club at the end of his contract. The Spanish attacking midfielder spent two years with the club, and will now take up a new challenge.
However, in his brief time with the Blues, he was able to become a key player in the squad, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists in 53 games across all competitions.

The 34-year-old provided much more than goals and assists on the pitch, creating chances for his teammates and dictating play throughout the 90 minutes. While he brought an immense amount of quality to the pitch, turmoil surrounding the management made it difficult to help challenge for the top six.
While things didn’t work out too well in the ISL, he won the Durand Cup with Bengaluru FC, following up his ISL trophy with ATK. It now remains to be seen where the Spanish midfielder goes next, given he has spent five years in India already.
Bengaluru FC have already signed Alberto Noguera and Jorge Pereyra Diaz to bolster their attack, and will hopefully have a like-for-like replacement on their hands right from the beginning of the season.
