Javi Garcia is set to be appointed as the new manager of Leeds United in the coming hours. The club has reached an agreement with him on the contract, and he has arrived at Elland Road to be revealed as the new manager of the first team.
The former Watford head coach will sign his contract in the coming hours to complete the formalities. He will replace Jesse Marsch, who was sacked on February 6th after almost a year in charge.
Javi Garcia to become new Leeds United manager imminently
The Spaniard has been without a job since leaving Al Sadd in the summer. His last job in the Premier League was with Watford in the 2018/19 season. And he will now have an important objective with the Yorkshire club – to help them avoid relegation.
As things stand, they have dropped down to the relegation zone and are only one point from the bottom. Their next game is against Southampton, who are currently last in the table.
Leeds United have not won any of their last five games, while the Saints will be coming on the back of a surprise win against Chelsea. As a result, it could be a difficult task for Javi Garcia to try and change things right from the get-go.
