Jasprit Bumrah proved to be the difference maker as India defended a low total of 120 in their ICC T20 World Cup match against Pakistan to earn a huge win. The pacer took five wickets in the second innings to earn himself a man of the match award, and in the process, set up a new record for himself.
The 30-year-old moved past three fellow teammates to become the most decorated bowler in ICC events. In total, Bumrah has earned five man of the match awards at ICC events, overtaking the previous record of four.

Australia won 2 WCs in Asia with only him as a specialist spinner and he was highest wicket taker for them in both. A freak from Sydney.pic.twitter.com/tlwcXTT3aO
List of Indian bowlers with the most MotM awards at ICC tournaments:
- Jasprit Bumrah – 5
- Mohammed Shami – 4
- Ravindra Jadeja – 4
- Ravichandran Ashwin – 4
Bumrah took a wicket in each spell against Pakistan, preventing them from gathering any momentum in their run chase, and ultimately, defending their total in spite of the odds being stacked against them.
The fast bowler has been in top form this year, and his performance so far has been really encouraging. Should he be able to keep up this form, he could be the difference maker for India in the tense games as the tournament reaches its business end.
