When your father is one of South cinema’s biggest stars, people notice the resemblance. Jason Sanjay just got a taste of it. His directorial debut *Sigma* has hit theatres, and so have the viral videos comparing him to [Thalapathy Vijay](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vijay_(actor)). He has responded with refreshing honesty.

### Jason Sanjay: Overview

In a chat with Pearle Maaney, Jason was asked about edited videos comparing him with his father. The clips use smooth transitions to show how similar their faces and expressions look. Jason admitted he was surprised when he first saw them. His answer was short and honest: it’s simply not under his control.

It’s a relatable response. He can’t change his genes, so he’s letting the work speak for itself.

### The Film He Wants to Make With Vijay

Jason was also asked what he’d direct if he ever worked with his father. He said he’d love to show Vijay’s fun, innocent side on screen. While many of Vijay’s films already have those qualities, Jason would prefer a lighthearted romantic comedy with relatable characters.

The timing makes this interesting. Vijay recently bid farewell to acting with *Jana Nayagan*, so a father-son collaboration would be a big moment for fans.

### What Is Sigma About?
