Japan is selling AMD Ryzen CPUs through vending machines

AMD’s Ryzen desktop CPUs are hit in the market especially in the DIY segment and let’s not forget the amazing performance which the AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs offer. However, a recent interesting story has popped up on the internet which shows us just how popular AMD’s Ryzen cards are.

According to recent sources, the popularity of AMD Ryzen CPUs in japan is so high that certain retailers have installed vending machines through which you can purchase a brand new Ryzen 5000 CPU.

But hold your horses, a new video surfaced online that explains what the real deal is. It’s been made clear that the boxes don’t actually contain CPU’s but instead they work like a lottery system. The box contains one or several Intel/AMD CPUs and can be played for 1000 Japanese Yen or $9 US. If lucky players could win from an old to a 1st or 2nd Gen Ryzen CPU. However, this is still much better than having no CPUs in the market.

AMD brand is very popular in Japan and it became a household name after the launch of the Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) CPU lineup which dethroned Intel in terms of market share. After Zen2 it was the only way up from there, as AMD clawed away the majority of the DIY CPU share from Intel and holds over 60% share with its Ryzen 5000 desktop CPUs.

during the launch of AMD’s Ryzen 5000 CPUs, many people were standing in line to get their hands on the cards even before them being put up for sales. A similar kind of view was witnessed in the majority of Asian markets when AMD launched its Ryzen 5000 CPUs.

So let’s hope that there could be more vending machines that could offer us AMD and NVIDIA GPUs as well, coz I am dying to get my hands on an RTX 30 card.
