Jamshedpur U13s finish third in JSW Youth Cup with 2-0 win over FC Madras

The Jamshedpur FC U13 team finished third in the JSW Youth Cup 2023 tournament following a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Madras thanks to goals from Marshal Hembram and Charan Soren.

The third and fourth place match was played at the JSW Vidyanagar Ground in Bellary, Karnataka just hours after Jamshedpur FC’s U15 team made the city and state of Jharkhand proud by lifting the JSW Youth Cup in their age category thanks to a 6-0 thrashing of Bengaluru FC.

U13 head coach Arshad Hussain would have been pleased with his team’s electric start to this match, as they created chances and pushed for the opening goal, and it arrived in the 37th minute thanks to a goal from Marshal Hembram.

The captain has been leading from the front throughout the tournament, and his goal set the pace for Jamshedpur FC dominance for the rest of the game.

FC Madras were forced into two substitutions in the 36th minute and it appeared to upset their rhythm as they conceded a second goal in the 46th minute.

This time it was Charan Soren who fired his shot past FC Madras goalkeeper Udayan Prabhuram to give the boys of steel a deserved 2-0 advantage.

Only one substitution was made by coach Hussain for Jamshedpur as Jayram Besra was replaced by Naman Kumar in the 63rd minute, but the players were disciplined enough and strong enough to see out the entire game without much trouble.

No yellow or red cards were observed in the match and Jamshedpur U13s came out on top to take third place and see out their JSW Youth Cup campaign on a high.
