Leicester City have officially announced Jamie Vardy’s new contract that will keep the striker at the club until the end of the 24/25 season. The 37-year-old was in fine form this past season, scoring 20 times for the Foxes to help them return to the Premier League at the first time of asking by finishing at the top of the table.
Now, the Foxes have announced that the talismanic forward will continue with them for a 13th season. Vardy is the club’s top scorer with 190 goals across all competitions, and is the oldest to win the Premier League Golden Boot, achieving the feat in 2019/20 when he scored 23.

“To get the numbers that I did [last season], I’m delighted with it, but there’s still more to come. I look after myself. I’ve always said that age is just a number. My legs feel fine so that’s why I carry on until my legs say ‘that’s it, game over’. There will be a day when that comes, but that’s not right now,” Jamie Vardy told Leicester’s official website.
“We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred per cent, it’s the best league in the world. That’s where you want to be playing your football.”
The longevity and consistency Vardy has shown over the past decade has been simply incredible. He was a part of the team that won the Premier League title in 2016, and is perhaps the best player in the history of the club.
Even though Leicester might be docked points on their return to the Premier League, retaining Jamie Vardy gives them much needed Premier League experience to retain their place in the top flight.
