James Rodriguez was almost certain to leave Real Madrid but now he is starting matches at the Bernabeu.
James Rodriguez started a Real Madrid match for the first time since May 2017 as Los Blancos drew 1-1 at home to Real Valladolid in LaLiga action on Saturday.
Unfortunately, Real Madrid have started this campaign from where they left the last campaign. Benzema trying to bail Madrid out but absolute horrible defending is letting them down. The story of last season is still haunting the Bernabeu.
James spent the last two seasons at Bayern Munich on loan. But they decided not to sign him permanently and now he has returned to the Bernabeu. After returning to Madrid, James was set to make a move to either Atletico Madrid or Napoli.
Rather, the 28-year-old played 57 minutes for Zinedine Zidane’s men in the Spanish capital. It was his first start in a Real Madrid shirt since May 2017.
James wrote on Twitter post-match: “Back at the Bernabeu after a long time. It was a unique feeling.

Karim Benzema has become the first French player to score 150 goals in LaLiga. He scored a stunner to give Real Madrid the lead in the 82nd minute. He scored by a fine turn and then finding the bottom-right corner from 18 yards.
Benzema is also only the seventh player to reach 150 goals for Madrid in Spain’s top flight.
But very poor defending from Madrid, saw them drawing 1-1 as Sergi Guardiola converted just before the end to seal a shock draw for Valladolid.
Real Madrid lacked creativity in the middle of the park. The last-minute strategy of Zidane also backfired. He introduced Jovic and played in a 4-2-2-2 formation with Bale, Benzema, Jovic and Vinicius upfront. But when Madrid went 1-0 up, he should have introduced one more midfielder to control the flow of the game.
Lets hope, the return of Eden Hazard to full fitness will change things for the Real Madrid side which is lacking creativities and ideas in the middle of the park.
